We are thrilled to share the key highlights from BCC’s Annual General Meeting held on 26th September 2024. It’s been an incredible year of progress, and we have some exciting news about our services, funding, and future plans!

New Leadership Team We’re proud to introduce our new leadership team, with Katherine Grant stepping into the role of Chair, Billy Mackenzie as Treasurer, and Susan Erlam as Secretary. Joining them are trustees Gordon Batchen, Isobel Allan, and newly elected members Neil Farnham and Caren Henderson.

Funding Success and Exciting Projects This year, we secured funding for two major projects:

  • Therapy Room & Building Works: Construction is underway on a brand-new therapy room at our hub, with stunning French doors already installed!
  • Electric Cars: We’ve also secured funding for two electric cars, soon to be delivered, which will enhance our community transport services.

Care at Home Improvements We’ve strengthened our Care at Home services with the recruitment of new local carers and a dedicated care coordinator, Caroline Mortimer, to improve the quality and availability of support for local residents.

Community Transport Overhaul Our community transport services, now managed by Jo & Olivia, will be available Monday to Friday during office hours, ensuring better accessibility for everyone.

Exciting New Events & Services We’re planning a range of new events and activities for the community, including Qi Gong, art workshops, group walks, and winter celebrations. Our popular footcare service continues to be fully booked, and new health services, including hearing and optician clinics, are up and running.

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from the community and our funders, which allows us to keep growing and providing essential services. Stay tuned for more exciting news and upcoming events as we continue to make BCC a hub for all!
