Show Your Support for Community Ownership of Foyers Stores

Boleskine Community Care is working to bring Foyers Stores – the shop, café and Post Office – into community ownership, safeguarding a vital service at the heart of our area for the long term. The shop is much more than a place to buy groceries; it plays a central role in daily life for local residents, particularly older people, families, and those without regular access to transport, while also acting as an important social hub within the community.

With the current owners planning to sell, this is a rare opportunity to secure the future of these essential services for community benefit. Community ownership would ensure that decisions are made locally, that the needs of residents come first, and that any surplus generated by the business is reinvested back into local services rather than taken out of the area.

As part of the funding package to complete the purchase, we will shortly be launching a community share offer. At this stage, we are inviting people to pledge their interest and show their support for the project. Making a pledge does not commit you to investing, but it plays a vital role in demonstrating strong community backing and helps us move forward with funders and final decisions. It also allows us to keep you informed as the project progresses and the share offer is finalised.

If successful, community ownership of Foyers Stores will help protect essential services year-round, use tourism income responsibly to support local needs, create local employment, and strengthen the long-term resilience of our community. This project is about safeguarding what matters most and ensuring the shop continues to serve local people now and for future generations.

If you would like to pledge your interest, receive updates, or simply show your support for community ownership, please complete our short pledge form here:
