Community Transport Scheme
Transport Scheme – Boleskine Community Care has a transport scheme that you can call on for getting you out and about.
This is a volunteer drivers scheme and operates in the area of Stratherrick and Foyers. Journeys of a further distance can be arranged with notice and appts to Raigmore Hospital or Inverness can also be supported.
Phone is manned between 11am and 3pm Monday to Friday and 10am-12pm and on a Saturday. Please contact the transport direct line or leave a message on
or email
We have for a short term been allowed to take people shopping locally. So if you need to get to the shops and usually have difficulty then please give us a call. This is part of COVID 19 recovery plan.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why do I have to be a member?
It is requested that each passenger become a member of the scheme prior to the first journey. This involves completing a very simple membership form. You will then receive an ID card with your membership number on it. This means that when you want to travel with us we will have all your details to hand. Your information will be held securely and will only be used for the purpose of arranging your journey.
Will the car come exactly when I want it?
A pick-up time will be arranged when you book and we will endeavour to pick you up as close to this time as possible. If you are attending an appointment please tell us at time of booking so you can be picked up in plenty of time.
Can I book more than one journey at the same time?
Yes, but not for regular long-term commitments. The scheme relies on volunteers and on certain occasions it may not be possible to find someone who can take you.
Do I have to state why I am travelling?
You will not be asked for details, simply whether the journey is for a social visit, shopping or perhaps attending a medical appointment. This kind of information is useful when it comes to securing future funding for the scheme.
Can I be picked up from my house?
Yes, if that is the best place for you, however, this will be at the driver’s discretion in relation to suitable road access.
Do I have to be picked up from my house?
No, you can arrange to be picked up from any point that suits you within the scheme’s area of operation, subject to driver access.
What if I need to cancel?
Simply phone and let us know as soon as you are aware you don’t need the lift. Again, as much notice as possible would be appreciated.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide transport for unaccompanied children (16 and under) or dogs (other than guide dogs). All drivers are members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Adult Scheme and will be following Boleskine Community Care Safeguarding Policy.
