About the Role

Boleskine Community Care is looking for a reliable and conscientious Cleaner to help keep The Hub clean, safe and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. The Hub is a busy community space used for activities, support services, events and social gatherings throughout the week. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating a clean, comfortable environment for others. This role offers 30 hours per month, with flexible working hours that can fit around your existing commitments. As most cleaning takes place when The Hub is closed, the successful applicant will have the flexibility to work outside of our opening hours. All cleaning products, equipment and training are provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning of the Community Hub, including but not exclusively:
    • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors.
    • Dusting and wiping surfaces.
    • Cleaning kitchen facilities and appliances.
    • Cleaning toilets and replenishing toiletries.
    • Emptying bins and replacing bin liners.
    • Cleaning windows, internal glass and entrance areas as required.
  • Undertake occasional deep cleaning tasks, including seasonal or periodic cleans.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored appropriately.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the building.
  • Work independently and manage cleaning tasks effectively within the allocated hours.

  • Is reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Can work independently using their own initiative.
  • Has good attention to detail.
  • Is friendly, respectful and understands that The Hub is used by people of all ages.
  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme check due to the nature of the role and the people who use our services.
